On Instagram, it's impossible to publish an album using different formats. In other words, you can't post multiple photos or videos in a single carousel publication with several different sizes.

In this article, we'll show you how to do it for free.

When you publish an album, Instagram requires images to have the same aspect ratio. To be able to publish photos or videos with a different ratio, you therefore need to crop them.

In this article, we'll describe how you can post several photos or videos of different sizes by first resizing them to square format.

On Instagram, it's impossible to publish an album with several different ratios. For example, if you want to publish a landscape and a portrait image at the same time, you need to crop one or the other (or you could crop both to square). Instagram requires your photos to have the same aspect ratio.

If they don't, it automatically crops them

How to publish several photos or videos of different sizes?

To publish several photos or videos of different sizes on Instagram, you first need to use a tool to resize them. To avoid cropping content, add a white background so that each photo or video becomes a square. Then you can publish the album without cropping or change the size of your image.

Here's a step-by-step tutorial:

1. Upload your photos/videos to a photo editing app

We recommend using Instasize here. An app dedicated to photo cropping.

One by one, upload the photos or videos you want to publish. Instasize is free to use. Simply download it from the app store or Google play store. It supports images, GIFs and videos.

Once you've imported all your content, you can move on to the next step.

2. Add a white background behind each post

Once you've imported your photos, all you then have to do is modify their ratio by adding a white background behind. And it couldn't be simpler.

Just select the image you want to crop, click on the edit icon (at the bottom) and select the format in which you want to resize your image. Here the square format.

The 1:1 format for an Instagram post appears right next to "Original"". Stories, portrait or landscape formats are also available depending on your preference.

If necessary, feel free to crop your original photo for easier adjustment later.

You can then click "Next" to save your image and export it to your film.

3. Export, upload and publish

After resizing your posts, you can upload them and share them on Instagram as an album. As each photo/video now has a 1:1 aspect ratio, you can publish them without cropping.

On an iPhone, you'll find your photos in your photo library. Specifically, in the album in which you saved it.

Repeat these steps for each of the photos and videos you want to share in your Instagram carousel. After uploading each of the posts in the square, open the Instagram app and download them as an album.

All you have to do now is write your description, organize your post and publish your carousel. You can even schedule your content with boostfluence to save time.
